I figured most small business owners would say they love what they do and that it provides them better work/life balance. Not so.

But they do like working and living by their own rules.

No wonder so many small business owners I speak with crave "personal time" to exercise or hang out with friends.

The survey, released each spring and fall, is based on a nationally representative sample of 618 small business owners/managers of companies with fewer than 100 employees.
