Advice for a step parent

I just read one of the best articles on step parenting. It is a first hand account of step parenting, without the preachy advice. I have had two step mothers and I know first hand how difficult the relationship can be. I think this article written by a step mother gives great guidance on the role the step parent should play. By walking into this relationship, a step parent finds themselves in the same balancing act a parent faces but without the title.
