More women in the boardroom

Good news. Despite the working woman's struggle for work/life balance, women are earning spots on corporate boards.
October was a record for the number of women appointed to Boards of Directors, according to NewsonWomen.com. The 35 appointments, covered a wide variety of industries, including major corporations like Avis Budget Group, Brunswick, CIT, Wachovia and Walgreens.
Six women were appointed as CEO's of major companies in the month of October and eight took over as President of Divisions for major companies or as President of the companies themselves; seven women took over as CFO's at still more big name corporations. Read more on www.newsonwomen.com.
